Hampton Art Lovers presents a curated panoramic experience at Miami Art Week/Art Basel at the Historic Ward Rooming House in Overtown. The experience is named “Point Comfort”, after the place in Virginia where the first Africans came ashore in America. Point Comfort will include three connected activities .

1. Point Comfort Art Show: UNCOVER legacy Fine Art, featuring selections from the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.

2.Point Comfort Art Fair: DISCOVER the works of such emerging and appreciated artists as: Ernie Barnes, Basil Watson, BUCK!, Phil Shung and Musa Hixson.

3.Indaba Art Conversations : Soul Basel In Review: Hampton Art Lover interviews artists and gallerists of color featuring : Dr. Michael Eric Dyson , Artist Bisa Butler with MoAna Luu (Chief Content & Creative Officer for Essence) and Anne Collins Smith (Curator of Collections of Spelman College Museum of Fine Art) moderated by Dr. Linda Malone-Colon (Hampton University Dean of Liberal Arts and Education)

Let’s celebrate the life of Rock n Roll Legend JIMI HENDRIX. Enjoy his groovy tunes while you Paint your own masterpiece instructed by professional artist Kern Bruce. DJ John Butler will provide the sounds for this JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE. Complimentary mimosa, sandwich & coffee BYOB optional.
